A breath releases from outside of my home. It sounds impatient yet longing.
It beckons me from behind the latched door. I know the sound, it is the second night. He’s there, the one who floods my senses. Above his cowl protrudes two long, twisted horns. Nature rings the bells from the threshold of my door. Her velvet whispers bathing me beneath her light.
Be still.
Leaves rustle as hooves dig into the soft earth. They will wait for now, but not much longer.
